Pre-combustion chamber injection
According to the manufacturer, the BETA series uses pre-combustion chamber injection instead of common rail or unit injection, eliminating vulnerable electronic fuel-control devices and improving operational reliability; this design enabled the engines to obtain US Coast Guard approval as lifeboat engines.
Low emissions
EPA Tier III and RCD II certified; according to the manufacturer, the BETA series offers an outstanding power-to-weight relationship.
Starting redundancy
In addition to electric start, hydraulic or spring start can be fitted.
