Features
Features
Designed as a marine engine
According to the manufacturer, the DV series was designed as a marine engine from the outset rather than a marinized industrial engine, with a simple design that makes servicing easy.
6 SOLAS-approved starting systems
The manufacturer lists six SOLAS-approved starting combinations to suit the lifeboat specification and redundancy requirements.
-40°C cold start (option)
An optional -40°C cold-start system tested under DNV witness is available, which can be considered for cold-climate routes.
Low vibration, automatic fuel control
According to the manufacturer, balanced counterweights neutralize vibration and tight tolerances keep running noise low; RME engines have automatic fuel control that supplies only the fuel the current load requires.
