Founded in 1947 in Cento, Italy, and now part of Marval Group, VM Motori has more than four decades of experience in marine engine development. VM has worked with Mercury Marine for more than 30 years, and several VM models are sold worldwide under the MerCruiser name.
The MR marine diesel range spans 2.0 to 4.2 litres in four-cylinder, V6 and inline-six configurations, delivering 40 to 350 metric horsepower. All models use electronically controlled common-rail injection, which, according to VM, is designed for strong torque, low fuel consumption and quiet running; and the range suits inboard and sterndrive pleasure boats (installation type depends on the model). Emission ratings vary by model; VM lists selected models as compliant with EU RCD 2 and US EPA Tier 3.
